Privacy Policy
Last updated September 18, 2026
This describes what SynthIt actually collects and does with it — not generic boilerplate. It's a plain-language draft, not a substitute for a lawyer's review before this governs real users at scale.
What we collect
- Account info— email, name, and authentication state, handled by our auth provider (Clerk). We store an internal user ID linked to it; we don't store your password.
- Billing info — subscription plan and status. Payment card details are handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
- Content you give us — documents, links, and text you submit (PDFs, videos, articles, pasted text), plus everything generated from them (summaries, flashcards, chat messages, notes).
- Usage data— which tools you run, credit balance, and basic product analytics (e.g. how many documents you've processed) used to run and improve the product. We don't sell this or share it with advertisers.
Who we share it with
Only the providers required to run the product, each only for that purpose:
- Clerk — authentication.
- Stripe — billing and payment processing.
- Google (Gemini) — your document content is sent to Gemini to generate summaries, chat answers, flashcards, and other artifacts you request.
- Voyage AI (or OpenAI) — document text is embedded for search.
- AssemblyAI — audio/video is transcribed when you submit media.
- Cloudflare R2 — uploaded files and generated media are stored here.
- Neon — our database provider hosts all of the above.
We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone else.
How long we keep it
Your documents and everything generated from them stay in your library until you delete them or close your account. Deleting a document removes its underlying files and data within a reasonable time.
Your choices
You can export or delete your documents and notes from within the product, and you can request full account deletion at any time by contacting us.
Changes
If this changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and, for material changes, tell you directly.
